National Account Manager
We are partnering a fast‑growing UK manufacturer and service partner for automatic and industrial door systems. Their teams protect hospitals, universities, distribution hubs and blue‑chip manufacturing sites nationwide with fully compliant, 24/7 maintenance cover. To strengthen their relationships with major frameworks and FM partners they are hiring a National Account Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a structured network of contacts at procurement, senior management and site level across key clients.
- Own the entire tender life‑cycle – from opportunity scanning and bid/no‑bid decisions to cost‑up pricing, margin strategy, submission and deal‑closing tactics.
- Develop a healthy pipeline of new maintenance contracts by leveraging portals, existing account maps and targeted sectors such as hospitals, universities and large manufacturing plants.
- Circulate monthly reports, and engage Planning/Operations teams early to prevent non‑compliance.
- Promote their DHF‑ and ADSA‑accredited ‘safer doors’ USP to differentiate them in crowded FM frameworks.
- Line‑manage and mentor a dedicated Major Account Administrator.
- Visit clients nationwide and spend 1–2 days per month at HQ.
Your Expertise:
- Proven success managing key or national accounts within building‑services/FM contracts.
- Demonstrable experience running competitive tenders for multi‑site maintenance – comfortable with pricing from first principles and flexing margin to suit opportunity.
- Strong commercial acumen: pipeline planning, negotiation, upselling and contract profitability tracking.
- Confident user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams/OneDrive) and comfortable interpreting ERP‑generated performance data.
- Natural relationship‑builder: conscientious, professional and able to influence internal stakeholders without direct authority.
- Knowledge of the built‑environment service market (doors, gates, HVAC, lifts, or similar) is ideal; product training provided.
Compensation Package:
- Very competitive basic salary
- 20% bonus
- Above average car allowance
- Pension scheme
- 23 days’ holiday + stats, rising to 27 with continued service
- Laptop/phone
- Genuine career progression in a growing business.
