Gate & Barrier Engineer

📍 Location: Field-based – Ideally Midlands, but experience more important than location

💰 Pay: £18–£22 per hour (DOE) | Door-to-door pay | Overtime rates up to 2.0x

A respected and growing company within the automatic gate and barrier industry is looking to expand its engineering team across the UK. With ongoing investment in training, equipment, and people, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Gate and Barrier Engineer to join a business that values skill, teamwork, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain automatic gates, barriers, and access control systems.
• Carry out fault-finding, electrical testing, and component replacements.
• Complete installations and upgrades when required.
• Ensure all work meets DHF and H&S compliance standards.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and professional communication on-site.
• Accurately complete job reports and maintain service documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience working on automated gates and barriers (essential).
• Good understanding of safety systems, wiring, and access control integration.
• DHF or GateSafe accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Competence in basic electrical fault-finding and repairs.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• A strong work ethic with commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.
