Automatic Door Engineer

OTE £55,000 +
An award-winning, global market leader in the automatic door industry is continuing to grow and is looking to add an Engineer to its service team across London. Previous automatic door experience is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced field service engineer from a transferable background such as security systems, access control, electrical, gates and barriers, lifts, HVAC, industrial doors or other electromechanical service environments. Full training will be provided, including structured site and classroom-based development. The package includes a basic salary of £48,000, £2,400 per annum callout standby fee, 33 days holiday, a lucrative commission scheme and a first-time fix incentive.
As an Automatic Door Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors manufactured by companies such as Assa Abloy, Record, Geze, Dorma, Stanley, Tormax, Horton, Label, and more.
- Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
- Basic electrical wiring.
- Adhering to BS EN 16005 standards.
The successful Automatic Door Engineer will have:
- Previous field service engineering experience within automatic doors or a transferable industry such as security, access control, electrical, gates and barriers, lifts, HVAC, industrial doors or another electromechanical environment.
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment, with the confidence to diagnose and repair equipment in the field.
- A customer-focused approach and experience working independently in a mobile service engineering role.
- Automatic door experience and EN 16005 certification would be advantageous but are not essential - full training will be provided.
- A clean driving licence.
- A CSCS Card would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A practical electrical and mechanical engineering background, with a willingness to develop knowledge of automatic door systems.
- Providing customers with advice and identifying the best solution to their individual requirement.
In return, you will receive a remuneration package which includes:
- Basic salary of £38,000 depending on experience.
- £2400 per annum callout standby fee.

- Premium overtime rates after 8 hours per day, travel time is considered overtime.
