Gate Engineer

£17–£20 per hour + Callout + Overtime + Company Van + Training
Overview
Our client is a growing specialist maintenance and engineering business supporting residential developments, high-rise buildings, and commercial properties across London and the South East.
They are now looking to recruit a dedicated Gate Engineer to take ownership of their gate automation division. This is more than a standard service engineer role. The successful engineer will have the opportunity to shape, develop, and grow a specialist gates department within an established business that already delivers access control, CCTV, glazing, smoke ventilation, door systems, and building maintenance services.
For the right person, this offers genuine long-term progression into a lead engineer, supervisory, or departmental management position.
The Role
Initially, around 70% of your workload will focus on gates and gate automation systems, with the expectation that this division will continue to grow.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Service, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on automated gate systems
- Motor replacements and automation upgrades
- Site surveys and technical assessments
- Supporting quotation preparation through accurate reporting and documentation
- Advising on replacement requirements and system improvements
- Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers regarding parts and technical support
- Supporting related access control systems connected to gate installations
- Assisting with larger projects and specialist subcontractors where required
Package
- £17–£20 per hour depending on experience

Candidate Profile
You could be suitable if you have experience with:
- Automated gates and gate automation systems
- FAAC, CAME, SEA or similar manufacturers
- Service and repair environments
- Residential, commercial, or facilities maintenance sectors
- Access control systems linked to gates
Useful qualifications include:
- DHF
- Gate Safe
- IPAF
- PASMA
