Gate Automation Engineer

£35,000 – £38,000 Basic + Optional Overtime
A small but well-known Midlands-based gate, barrier, and access control specialist is looking to expand its engineering team and is now seeking an experienced Gate Automation Engineer to join the business. This is a field-based position covering The Midlands, with weekly visits to the company’s Leicester base to replenish stock and collect kit.
This role would suit an Engineer seeking stability, with no out-of-hours callout rota and no weekend working required—though Saturday overtime is available for those who want it. The company is committed to promoting a strong work-life balance.
The Successful Gate Automation Engineer Will Have:
- Previous experience with gate automation systems such as CAME, ROGER, BENINCA, or BFT
- Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining automatic gates and access control systems
- Basic welding ability and willingness to assist with groundworks during new installations
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of door entry systems, access control panels, and door automation is beneficial
- Fluent English (written and spoken) – essential for reporting and customer interactions
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations relevant to gate/barrier/door systems
- Ideally holds an Electrical Installation Qualification
In Return, You'll Receive:
- Basic Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 (depending on experience and product knowledge)
- Optional overtime:
- Weekday overtime paid at standard rate
- Saturday work (optional) paid at time and a half
- 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
- No out-of-hours or weekend commitments
- Fully stocked company van (private use permitted)

- Health & Safety training and in-house product training
